Steel the Best: Linton Incorporated Celebrates Its Strong 70th Year

It’s not every day that we get to celebrate something as significant as 70 years in the steel industry. For us at Linton Incorporated, this milestone is a deeply personal one, a testament to a journey that began in 1954 with the vision of our founder, Lim Ka Thong. We proudly celebrated this momentous occasion on October 23rd at the Marriott Hotel, surrounded by our valued partners, employees, and friends who have been instrumental in our success.

      A Journey of Resilience

When we think about the story of Linton Incorporated, we see a portrait of resilience, etched with the determination of Lim Ka Thong. Our founder’s journey started at the young age of 14 when he left his home in China and immigrated to the Philippines in the shadows of World War II. The odds were daunting. He navigated a new land, balancing his education while taking on work to support his family. This perseverance became the bedrock of our values at Linton.

In those early days, with little more than sheer ambition and the support of his brother, Lim embarked on building a future in the steel industry. They started small, importing GI sheets—”yero”—to meet the demands of a booming construction landscape. Even then, his entrepreneurial spirit and tireless work ethic were laying the groundwork for what we now know as a trusted and enduring name in Philippine steel.

      Pioneering Innovation

Growth was never linear, but as Linton expanded, so did our vision. Our product line evolved from humble beginnings to include H-beams, channels, angles, and pipes. Each addition wasn’t just a business move but a step forward in contributing to the country’s infrastructure and development. Today, we are known for delivering reliable and quality steel solutions that build the nation’s backbone.

Our journey under Lim Ka Thong’s guidance was shaped by values that remain our compass: quality and reliability, unmatched customer service, adaptability, and a deep respect for people.

For us, customer service goes beyond transactions. It’s about fostering relationships that are as sturdy as the structures our products help create. This commitment to going the extra mile is what solidifies our role as a trusted industry partner.

      A Vision for the Future

      A Vision for the Future

Reaching our 70th year isn’t the end of the road; it’s a springboard into a future brimming with opportunities. We have ambitious plans, driven by the Lim family’s commitment to honor our founder’s legacy through continued innovation. From developing a 300-room hotel in Manila to launching a new warehouse and service center in Bulacan, we are poised to make meaningful contributions to the industry and society.

Our leadership philosophy remains people-first, recognizing that our most valuable resource is our employees. We are committed to fostering an environment of trust and motivation, ensuring that our team stays inspired. After all, it’s our dedicated workforce that has propelled us forward and will continue to do so.

      Celebrating 70 Years Strong

As we turn the page to the next chapter of Linton Incorporated, we have evolved from a modest two-person endeavor into a group of ten companies, employing over 500 individuals. It’s a story of innovation, persistence, and an unyielding dedication to the communities we serve.

As we celebrate these 70 years of service, we do so with a clear vision: to keep building lives and leaving a lasting impact on the steel industry. We remain true to our founder’s principles, committed to quality, and focused on a future filled with possibilities. Here’s to continuing our mission, staying resilient, and forging ahead with purpose.
